cataract surgery

It has been three and a half weeks since my second cataract surgery. I have been having a problem with my vision, I see a black frame round everything, it is like looking down a telescope. I have been back to see the opthamologist, who has run a number of tests, and finally determined that there is nothing wrong with me, what I am seeing, they tell me, is the new lens and hopefully after the sack in which it is located has developed scar tissue I will no longer have the problem. It seems to me if that was the case it would have happened to someone before me and they could have told me that in the first place. As it is, it seems to me they are just trying to find any explanation. I do hope that it will eventually go away. It did take seven years to get my sense of smell back after getting shingles, and now it works, so I have more confidence in my body fixing itself than in the doctor. Sad to say.

Well this is distressing, and I agree with you that if it were an expected outcome they should have told you about it in the first place.

Whatever the explanation I hope it clears up soon.
