flash flood watches all over
On Friday Michelle, Mark and I went to lunch at Acme Oyster House in Metairie. We had a lovely lunch, raw oysters for Michelle and Mark, broiled for me, and oyster po'boys for Michelle and Mark. Yummy. Then, when we left, we found out it was raining, with a vengeance. Michelle was driving, and I told her, drive very slowly because there is a lot of water in the road, and stay in the middle lane because the outside lanes were under water. She did a good job, and we crawled along, slowly, the water got higher and higher, till we finally got to West Esplanade, and had to drive through water a couple of feet deep. Mark couldn't believe his eyes, it was his first experience with flooded roads, and he couldn't believe it happened in the time it took us to get home after lunch. We made it to the house, and after a while the rain stopped. That night after the water went down, I let them borrow the truck, because I was afraid there would be flooded streets again, and the truck sits up much higher than the car. They went to a party that night and everything was fine, and Saturday we went to the party at Libby's house, (Kay's mom). That was great, then this morning I took them back to the airport, and they took off for Seattle. Then the rain started again, and it is pouring and we have flash flood watches all over. C'est la vie.
