This is a good time for New Orleans. The Saints won the Superbowl. The whole town, in fact the whole Gulf Coast is ecstatic. There is going to be a big parade today in New Orleans to celebrate. When the team got back yesterday there were about 100,000 people welcoming them at the airport, it was amazing. It is cold so I watched it on TV, which is how I will watch the parade today. By 5pm it will be cold and will get progressively colder. The average for this time of year is 60, but this week it is in the 40s.
More good news, Mitch Landrieu won the election for mayor of New Orleans. His father was mayor when I first moved here, and then moved on to be Secretary of HUD, and his sister is Senator, so hopefully he will know what he is doing. We need a good mayor.
