I went to spend a few days in Winchester, Va. with Norma and Robert, old friends from Italy. It was so nice to see them again and reminisce. It is hard to believe it has been almost 40 years since we met in Italy and Norma used to entrance all the children on the beach with her stories about La Cuccaracha, (pardon my spelling). We all miss Italy, but Norma and Robert went on to exciting times in Turkey, Saudi Arabia, plus a few other countries, and did a few round the world trips before they finally returned to the States and took up residence in Winchester. We reconnected shortly after as at that time I was living in Maryland. Now that I live in Louisiana we still visit whenever possible. We all had lots of fun, visiting antique stores, a national park in West Virginia and a number of restaurants. Now I am back with John, Yulan and Andrew, and we will be here for a week before we take off on our vacation together.

It is so great to catch up with old friends, it brings the past back to life.
