it already 'got me'

My friend Bobbie sent me wishes this morning that I 'have no problems as a result of the tropical storm about to hit your area...stay safe!
thanks Bobbie, unfortunately it already "got' me. I decided to go to the gym this morning despite the rain, and on the drive home, I was in the left lane of a four lane hwy, when the car ahead of me suddenly swerved to the next lane and I saw a tree in my lane, so I also tried to swerve over, but the road was so slick my car went into a skid, spun round in a circle and crashed into the barrier, facing the wrong way. Great. Two very nice truck drivers stopped to make sure I was OK, and one of them stayed till a cop showed up. He was from the wrong jurisdiction but took the information then stopped traffic so I could turn round and get off the hwy to the first place I could pull into a parking lot. The truck driver took the tree so there would be no more accidents. The cop followed me and waited with me till a local cop arrived. Meanwhile I was on the phone first with the police and then with my insurance company. I am fine my car is not so happy. The insurance company set me up with a truck to haul the car home. I was very lucky and met two very nice truck drivers, two very nice cops, and talked to two very nice insurance agents, and finally a very nice guy hauled my car and me home. I sustained no injuries other than shock and fatigue. So now I am home watching weather warnings, it seems we are going to get some very nasty weather for the next five days.
