The hunt for a new management company continued, with my leasing agent looking hard for someone good. She came up with a guy who used to work with her, I called him and he fit the bill, so off to Gaithersburg again, to meet with him. All went well, we signed the forms, and then off to the house to meet with the contractor. I met him for the first time, all previous contact had been via email and phone, with me living in Louisiana. He finished up most of the work that was still outstanding so I gave him most of the money. I then went to Home Depot to buy a mop and can of polish to do the floor, since it seems cleaning companies and maid services don't know how to clean a floor. Good grief. I left the keys for my new manager in a lock box on the door, and called my new tenant to give her his name, phone number, and let her know that he will make sure the contractor actually finishes the work. Tomorrow, I fly back to Louisiana after a really whirlwind trip. I hope my next trip up here will be a bit longer and not so stressful. One a lighter note, here are some more pictures of Matthew's birthday party.
