what a day. I went to get the rental truck early this morning, after calling the contractor to be sure he and his assistants were up and ready to go. I had looked up the office on the Internet and double checked, Google and the office's web site show the office on the border of Jefferson Parish and New Orleans. I got to the location and there was nothing there. I had tried to check the numbers on the buildings, but only saw four, the first in the 4000s, the next in the 2000s, and then one in the 9000s. How did that happen. I chased down an cop car, and asked him if he know where the rental office was, he looked puzzled and said, I think it is all the way back in Kenner. How could that be? I headed back to Kenner, but along the way stopped off in a convenience store to see if they knew where it was. they didn't but they had a phone book, I called the office and they said, yes, they are all the way the hell in Kenner by the airport. I had wasted hours. So I called Joe, who had just left home, and told him it was out by the airport, past my house going the other way.
Finally found the office, rented the truck, drove it over to the condo. It didn't fit under the building, so I parked it in the gate way, and we had to leave it there while we loaded everything. It took longer to find the rental office than it did to move everything. We came back to the house and Joe and his friends moved everything into the house, so that is done. As we finished early, I had time to go to the insurance office to pay my insurance. On the way back I stocked up on supplies and yummy food for Michelle and Mark. Can I live up to Kay's outstanding menu? Well there will be plenty.
