Microphone problem
There's a problem with the microphone inside your computer. Try plugging in a USB headset for this call.
This is the message I get when I try to use skype. There was no problem prior to installing Windows 7, it worked fine with Vista, which is such a terrible piece of junk that I was only too happy to get rid of it, except that I can no longer skype. help

And next time you get an error message, try pasting it into google and see if you find any answers there. This link was on the first page of results for the search There's a problem with the microphone inside your computer.
Thanks Michelle, unfortunately I spent a whole day with the people at Office Depot and we went through google and couldn't find anything that works. We had downloaded Windows 7, all drivers are in place, but it won't work.

I have the exact same problem, I have a packard bell laptop and my microphone won't work.

hi Susi, yes, after weeks of working with the techs at Office Depot and at Acer, I decided to wipe the computer clean and reinstall the recovery disks, bringing it back to the original factory vista. I hate vista but till they fix the problems with the microphone I will keep it so that I can skype my friends. I am now able to skype and am busy reinstalling the rest of my 'stuff' on the computer. I hope this helps. Freda
